WHY ARE WE GOING? To continue our education and to inspire and excite our efforts as Master Gardeners. Plus, they're just plain a lot of fun and a great way to make new friends and touch in with old ones. 

 

WHERE?  To gardens public and private, behind the scenes at nurseries and research centers, nature preserves, garden conferences and shows, and just about anything horticultural. Once a year an overnight trip is taken to some intriguing place farther out. Please e-mail your particular interests and where you’d like to go this year.

 

HOW? Just e-mail or call the Trips coordinators to sign up for the scheduled trips, or sign up at the monthly meeting. For special trips Billy may provide the County van for transportation. Others, it's carpooling among the MGs, especially if the trip includes shopping at nurseries along the way. Vehicles typically pull out from a gathering point in the morning and return in the late afternoon, with lunch at a restaurant or a bagged-lunch picnic along the way. Gas costs are shared and due at pullout. Special costs, such as the rare entry ticket, may be payable in advance. 

Volunteer drivers for the carpools are always needed. If you can drive on visits you sign up for, please let us know and how many passengers your vehicle can carry. If you prefer to ride but could step in as an emergency backup driver if needed, please let us know that .

 

WHEN? We'll take several trips this year.* The schedule will be posted here, with updates as needed, and notices included in the Extension newsletters as well. Trips are usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays because that has worked best.

*MORE, MORE, MORE!: There are so many wonderful places to go and events to attend. Throughout the year, we’ll post other destinations at your request and see who wants to go. Keep an eye on this site for new opportunities.
