Over fifty vendors will be at this year's Spring Garden Expo, to be held at the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center. Twenty-five regional plant growers and retailers will have the greatest variety of plants for sale anywhere in Georgia. This is "must" event for the avid gardener. Also, garden tools and accessories, mulch, garden art, pottery, antique tools, etc.
Also, free gardening workshops will be presented every hour and half-hour, beginning at 10:00 a.m. each day. Topics such as pruning, composting, herb selection and care, soil preparation, landscape design basics, and xeriscaping will be presented by our own Master Gardener experts.
Junior Master Gardeners will have a booth selling tomato plant seedlings that they have raised as part of their school projects. There will also be a children's booth, where the youngsters can transplant - and keep - a marigold plant.
The City of Gainesville will be providing FREE mulch and compost - so bring your pickup truck!
And Habitat for Humanity will be raffling a $3,500 - value garden shed, provided by Griffin Landscape and Supply.
Hewell's Pottery will be offering pottery - turning demonstrations.
For those that might be hungry, a food vendor will be providing snacks, drinks, and sandwiches.
So join the Hall County Master Gardeners at their sixth annual Spring Garden Expo - "the greatest two-day plant sale in Georgia". Co-sponsored by Hall County Extension Service.
Friday, April 11th and Saturday, April 12th, from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. both days. Parking and admission are free.
Directions: Interstate I-985 to Exit 20, turn right. Then turn right at the traffic light at the Kangaroo Service store. Follow Calvary Church Road about two miles to the Chicopee Woods Ag Center, on the left.
