HCMG Weekly Newsletter for October 29
REQUESTS FOR GRANTS:
The executive board is soliciting requests for grants, and
we have already received several from a group of our
members, specifical;ly for Elachee Nature Center, Sonrise
Camp, and Smithgall Woodland Gardens. If you know of other
Hall County organizations that might qualify for our
grants, please submit a request and proposal to Dave Rusk
prior to our next board meeting on November 20th.
DATES TO REMEMBER
Tuesday, November 20: Our monthly meeting for November will
be at the Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center. Guest speaker
will be Glenda Thompson, president of the Cherokee County
Master Gardeners. We will also have the election of the
2008 officers. (Note corrected date from last week's
newsletter)
Tuesday, December 11: Holiday party at Jaemor Farms. Plans
are underway for a very enjoyable evening to close out our
year of great Master Gardener achievements.
Friday, April 11, 2008, and Saturday, April 12, 2008: The
Greatest Two-Day Plant Sale in Georgia, our annual Spring
Garden Expo, at Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center.
Saturday, September 13, 2008: Our annual Fall Garden Expo
and Symposium. Symposium date subject to change.
