Congratulations Hall County Master Gardeners for completing almost 15,000 hours of volunteer time in 2008!!!!

SCOTT’S TRAINING INSTITUTE

The Scotts Training Institute is coming to Atlanta for two training sessions on Saturday, 2/21/09.  Because of the success of last year's session, we are offering a northern session in Marietta and a southern session in McDonough to minimize drive time and reduce the size of the class to allow better interaction.  If anyone is interested in attending, the extension office has the information to register.

Here is what you need to do if you want to attend:

1. Email  Michael Parent at mjp2010@hotmail.comor call him at 678-634-2937 and let him know which event you wish to attend.  He will need your name, email address and daytime phone number.  (This will assure us we have plenty of food for lunch!)

2. Tell him which session you plan to come to - Northern session or Southern session.  Deadline for registration is Wednesday 2/18/09!

“Lunch and Learn series” beginning in April at the Main Gainesville and Spout Springs libraries. Anyone interested in speaking at one of these, please let me know. 770-535-8293 or email me. Wanda

Volunteers needed for planting day at Fair Street Community Center – Feb 6th:

On Friday, February 6 at 8:30am, we will be installing plant materials for a ‘Water-Smart’ demo garden at the Fair Street Community Center.  This is a joint project between Hall County Extension & Gainesville Water Dept.  Thanks to Ron Brechter, the beds have been prepped and are ready to be planted.  We will be installing a number of perennials and shrubs; if we have 6-8 people, it should not take more than 2 hours.  If you can help, please contact Billy at bskaggs@hallcounty.org or call the Extension office.  Thanks in advance for your support!
