Master Gardener Program
Extension News
Look for a new format on the Newsletter next week.
I will continue to send the weekly newsletter out with pertinent information on the Hall County Master Gardener’s at the beginning of each week. It will include a “Letter from the President” and all other subjects, such as recognition, upcoming important dates to remember, volunteer opportunities and such. It will be shorter and more concise.
Biweekly, I will send out information on a separate newsletter for events and other things the Master Gardeners may want to attend or look into to. This way if you are not interested in any State or Country events, you do not have to read it.
This will be purely informational for those who like to know about other events going on outside Hall County. If you have any questions, email or call me. Thank you, Wanda
S.E. Flower Show Trip, Friday, January 30th. All of the people who are interested in going on this trip, please meet at 8:30 am at the extension office. We will return by 4 pm. The van is full. There is a group that is interested in carpooling. If you are not signed up for the van, please contact Rosie Weissman at
rosaleeweissman@bellsouth.net or call her at 770-531-7530 to make arrangements.
Hall County Master Gardener dues are being taken now. They are $10 till February 17th. After that, they will be $15. You can send them to the extension office to the attention of Lee Lovett. 734 East Crescent Drive, Gainesville, Ga. 30501.
More congratulations!
*Additional congratulations to Chestnut Mountain JMG’s! In addition to the recent GMGA grant of $700, the group also received a $1,000 grant from Keep Hall Beautiful for planting trees at the school. They, too, were given over 1500 yellow daffodil bulbs from Touch of Nature, and those have been planted by JMG’s and a host of other volunteers. CONGRATULATIONS! Keep up the good work!
*CONGRATULATIONS, too, to “Gardens on Green”—another $1,000 grant from Keep Hall Beautiful for planting trees!
Thanks!
Kathy Lovett
*SAVE THE DATE: Tuesday, April 21, at 6:30---------Dedication of “Gardens on Green”
(This event had to be postponed from its original date because of construction delays.)
Hellebores (LentenRoses) for sale. Hellebores bloom in the winter and are already in bud.
They are deer and drought resistant. They are evergreen and long-lived. Hellebores do well in partial shade.
My 2 gallon plants are $10 and will bloom this year.
Also available 3 gallon larger plants $15.
